It's hard to get out of the barrel. It's slippery around the edges and people are happy to see you fall back in. Robert Downey, Jr.
Falling on the rough edges of life is to learn to adapt to trauma and pain.
Each stage in life brings you pain to transform.
When you are a child, you learn to walk by falling down and getting back up. Pain is a signal that you are alive. Pain can come from physical pain like scraping your knee or breaking your leg and there is mental anguish like losing a friend or a family member. They intersect with love and hate which are opposites of the same coin. You cannot have happiness without suffering.
There is so much written about topics and lots of music. Sharp edges are what make life interesting, scary and transformative.
Each person will have their own struggles in life. Most people grow up with what they know or what they remember. We are shaped by the people around us both good and bad. The holy spirit brings us those people that will both harm you and soothe you. This brings about discernment. Some people already have an inner moral compass and this quality is universal throughout the world that crosses the globe.
Each person has something to teach someone else. We have to communicate with everyone. The world is not divided, the world is a mixing pot of experiences. There is a lesson to be learned from each experience. Experience and wisdom can shape the decisions in life.
That sharp edge that you feel is a lesson to how to act the next time. There is true evil in the world but it is not something that you know until you experience it. Some people are supposed to hurt you.
I am reminded of the serenity pray.
Accepting hardships as a pathway to peace.
Go in peace and have a Merry Christmas

So true Rebecca. Necessary pain is like necessary loss. It strengthens and teaches us to rise and to care for ourselves. Be good to yourself this season.
